Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized CPA / Bookkeeper to join our team full-time. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping functions, producing financial reports, and assisting leadership with financial planning and reporting.
The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, experience working with U.S.-based companies, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online.
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Monitor cash flow and account balances.
- Ensure financial records remain accurate and current.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss Statements.
- Prepare Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
- Produce monthly financial reports for leadership review.
- Track budget versus actual expenses.
- Assist with financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Payroll & Compliance
- Coordinate payroll processing and reporting.
- Assist with contractor payments and tracking.
- Maintain organized records for tax and compliance purposes.
- Coordinate with outside tax professionals as needed.
- Assist with sales tax filings and other reporting requirements.
Operational Support
- Track event-related income and expenses.
- Monitor sponsorship and membership revenue.
- Assist with financial reporting for company events and programs.
- Create and maintain accounting procedures and documentation.
- Support leadership with financial data and special projects.
Requirements
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work U.S. business hours.
- Reliable internet connection and home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with U.S.-based companies.
- Experience with event, education, coaching, or real estate businesses.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and contractor management.
- Experience creating financial processes and internal controls.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide recommendations.
