POSITION SUMMARY
We're looking for experienced, passionate, and resourceful staff-level engineers to join our Identity backend team. You'll help build the systems that provide effortless, secure access across EarnIn's expanding consumer and enterprise ecosystem, ensuring legitimate users can move forward seamlessly while stopping bad actors in their tracks. As a staff engineer, you'll work cross-functionally to ship resilient identity infrastructure at scale, harnessing agentic workflows and modern AI tooling to multiply your impact.
This is a remote position, though it could also be a hybrid role from our Mexico City office as part of our expanding site. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- System Design and Architecture: Design, architect, and implement identity management solutions that meet the organization's security and scalability requirements.
- Identity Integration: Seamlessly integrate identity services into our applications to ensure a cohesive user experience across multiple platforms.
- Own delivery from design through launch, partnering across teams to ship safely and maintain platform stability.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in identity management, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization.
- Create and maintain test automation to enable continuous integration and development velocity.
- Design & deliver thoughtfully crafted REST APIs to drive the interactions between our client applications and backend services.
- Collaborate and mentor other engineers while providing thoughtful guidance using code, design, and architecture reviews.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams (data science, design, product, marketing, analytics).
- Leverage a broad skill set and help us implement and learn new technologies quickly.
- Provide and receive design and implementation evaluations and improve with each iteration.
- Debug production issues across our services infrastructure and multiple levels of our stack.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 7+ years of development experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Hands-on experience building agentic workflows and multi-agent systems, orchestrating with guardrails to automate real engineering work end-to-end.
- Adept in at least one modern programming language such as C#, Java, or JavaScript.
- Deep knowledge of various databases (DynamoDB, MySQL), stream processing technologies (Kafka), and event-driven architecture patterns.
- Production experience operating Kubernetes and designing resilient microservice architectures at scale.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar tools) as part of your software development workflow
- Proficiency in an identity management system, such as Okta, Auth0, Keycloak, or similar.
- Strong understanding of authentication protocols and standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML), familiarity with RBAC/ABAC, MFA, and other identity and access management (IAM) concepts
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken)
