Development Lead Closures (FESM – Front End Sheet Metal)
Job Description
- Responsible for capturing, documenting, and cascading commodity-specific Lessons Learned across programs.
- Provide coaching and technical guidance to engineers, while supporting the Design Release (DR) Engineer to ensure adherence to established processes and standards.
- Ensure compliance with CPCR requirements, as well as design and process standards and best practices.
- Drive harmonization and standardization of engineering documents across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC regions.
- Support successful program launches and provide assistance for Cost Reduction Steering Team (CST) and Warranty-related activities.
- Develop and maintain core DFMEA, DVP&R, and EKF guidelines, ensuring proper implementation and utilization of these documents.
- Review and validate DFMEA and DVP&R documentation, obtaining Design Release (DR) and Systems Release (SR) approval for any required changes.
- Review and approve initial and final CCDs (Component Change Documents) and IAAs (Interface Agreement Approvals).
- Serve as system owner for assigned closure systems and processes.
- Provide technical support to Program Chiefs (PC), Design Release (DR), and Systems Release (SR) Engineers.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering best practices (e.g., Closures Design Checklist).
- Review compliance reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
- Support strategic planning activities for future vehicle programs and projects.
- Review and validate engineering rework procedures.
Requirements:
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical-Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on Closures components and systems.
- Working knowledge of NX and Teamcenter (TC).
- Strong understanding of EBOM, CODEP, STV, and TCR processes and interactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Green Belt certification.
- Reactive Problem Solving Green Belt certification.
- Master's degree in Engineering or an equivalent advanced technical qualification.
