Job Summary:
The Senior Remote Construction Project Manager directs complex project operations from a home office, spanning new construction, service calls, and government projects. This role requires an industry veteran with 7+ years of experience working within U.S. construction companies. While fire sprinkler certifications are not required, you must possess a deep, comprehensive knowledge of overall commercial construction processes, MEP systems, and project sequencing. You must be a visionary leader, a master communicator, and a high-level negotiator who can bring fresh, scalable ideas to optimize our departments and confidently present strategic initiatives directly to board members. You will seamlessly leverage our digital ecosystem (Monday.com, Google Calendar, WhatsApp, Slack) to coordinate field teams, streamline internal workflows, protect profit margins, and drive company growth.Core Responsibilities
- Strategic & Board Leadership: Proactively identify bottlenecks in project delivery, propose innovative ideas to improve department efficiency, and regularly present data-driven solutions directly to board members.
- Diverse Project Execution: Simultaneously manage fast-paced service and maintenance calls, large-scale new construction developments, and strict government contracts.
- Construction Process Oversight: Manage overall project lifecycles, project sequencing, scheduling, submittals, and closeout tracking for various commercial building types.
- Government Compliance: Navigate federal/state documentation requirements, certified payroll, security clearances, and specialized government design/contracting criteria.
- Digital Workflow Management: Optimize and maintain absolute accuracy in Monday.com for project tracking and use Google Calendar to manage strict milestone schedules.
- Real-Time Communication: Utilize Slack for immediate internal team collaboration and WhatsAppfor rapid, direct communication with field crews, subcontractors, and clients.
- Contract & Scope Negotiation: Finalize project scopes, material pricing, and vendor contracts to secure the most favorable financial terms.
- Change Order Management: Confidently negotiate scope creep, RFI cost impacts, and extra work with U.S.-based general contractors and government contracting officers.
Industry & Technology Requirements
- Executive Presentation Skills: Proven ability to format data, build clear reports, and confidently present operational and financial updates to board members or executive leadership.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Track record of improving departmental workflows, implementing better standard operating procedures (SOPs), or scaling service divisions.
- U.S. Industry Tenure: Must have 7+ years of direct experience working for a United States-based company in the general construction, mechanical, or MEP construction industry.
- Mastery of Construction Processes: Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction sequencing, structural framing, building codes, and cross-trade (MEP) coordination.
- Tech Stack Proficiency: Hands-on experience using Monday.com, Google Calendar, Slack, and WhatsApp for business operations and project tracking.
- Advanced Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successfully negotiating high-dollar change orders, government contract modifications, and vendor pricing.
- Exceptional Communication: Mastery of verbal and written English, with the ability to maintain rapid, clear, and professional response times digitally.
