Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Microvellum Designer & Cabinet Engineering Specialist to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for transforming approved designs into fully engineered manufacturing packages ready for CNC production, purchasing, assembly, and installation.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in custom cabinetry, closets, vanities, kitchens, commercial millwork, and residential architectural woodworking.
Key Responsibilities
* Create complete Microvellum projects from concept through manufacturing.
* Develop shop drawings, production drawings, assembly drawings, and installation packages.
* Configure and maintain Microvellum libraries, standards, and product catalogs.
* Generate CNC-ready files for nested-based manufacturing.
* Produce accurate cut lists, material reports, and hardware reports.
* Coordinate with project managers, designers, production teams, and installers.
* Review designs for manufacturability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with North American construction standards and best practices.
* Maintain drawing revisions and project documentation.
* Participate in continuous improvement of company standards and engineering processes.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of Microvellum experience.
* Minimum 5 years of custom cabinetry or architectural millwork experience.
* Advanced understanding of cabinet construction methods.
* Experience with frameless European cabinetry systems.
* Experience with closets, vanities, wall panel systems, and custom millwork.
* Ability to create projects from architectural plans and field measurements.
* Strong understanding of cabinet hardware systems including Blum, Hettich, Salice, Grass, and similar manufacturers.
* Ability to read architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with North American residential construction.
* Experience with luxury custom homes.
* Experience with CNC manufacturing environments.
* Knowledge of AWI standards.
* Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, or similar software.
* Experience coordinating offshore manufacturing operations.
