The Product and Process Specialist (PPS) in Paint Shop is an Engineer dedicated in assuring the compliance of all the corporate process standar requirements from the BIW final stage until the last paint inspection in Final Line and Customer audits meeting the safety, quality, cost and delivery expectations. For the compliance of these requirements the PPS needs to monitor quality KPIs and implement improvement plans working with other areas of the paint shop and plant and involving paint suppliers.

Requirements:

1 Strategic

a.-

Update and analyze main Paint Shop Quality KPIs (FTC shop, final line, CPA, Warranty)

Produce units in paint shop comply all requirements stated in Paint Process Standards

Define QA Matrix projects to assure the quality conformance and improvement of the process

2 Operational

a.-

Assure paint process parameters under control (pretreatment & top coat indicators)

Develop and follow general action plans to eliminate Quality Issues

c.-

Perform Process Audits in all Paint Shop areas following the statements in PSOP (process standards)

3 Resource Management

a.-

Coordinate the activities of quality team members (hourly personal)

Coordinate the activities with paint suppliers and generate action plans

Coordinate activities with plastic paint suppliers for color harmony colors

Other Functions

Assure Phosphate and Ecoat process parameters under control

Inspect and implement improvement plans in sealer process, including UBS/UBC

Report and develop action plans to avoid water leaks relating to sealer process

Contact with pretreatment supplier to implement pretreatment cleaning programs

Assure paint process controls (film builds, cure windows, appearance)
Assure mix room controls
Maintain color harmony with supplier plastic parts

Validation of new colors

Analyze and identify foreign material issues and create actions plans to eliminate these conditions
Assure optimal conditions in paint booths and ovens (focus on cleaning)
Verify body repairs meeting paint standards

Develop and follow general action plans to eliminate Quality Issues reported in QVS, final line, Customer Audit and/or Warranty Claims submitted by dealer (final user)

Assure ISD Implementation in all paint process

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience: (Time/Type)

5 years automotive experience
