The Opportunity
This position works out in our Queretaro Manufacturing Site, with Electrophisiology Division.
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
As Finance Project Leader you will be responsible for supporting financial planning, reporting, and analysis of cost performance for manufacturing operations and capital projects. The position contributes to the development of project budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and alignment with expected performance.
The role gathers, analyzes, and consolidates financial data related to historical, current, and projected performance to support decision-making. It provides insights into cost drivers, project spending, and operational variances, and highlights risks and opportunities.
Working closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, the position ensures accurate cost tracking and supports adherence to financial processes and controls. The role applies financial analysis techniques to recommend improvements and support financially sound decisions.
Additionally, the position may provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior analysts, while continuously seeking to improve financial processes, reporting quality, and data integrity.
What You’ll Do
Project financial planning and control:

Support development and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections

Track actual project spend vs. budget and identify variances
-
Maintain financial models and provide updates on project progress and challenges
Cost Analysis and Manufacturing Finance Support
-
Manage CapEx processes including authorization, tracking, reporting and compliance with corporate policies
-
Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, material and overhead variances
-
Support operational teams with cost control, budgeting and spend analysis
Reporting, Close and Data Accuracy

Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and year end financial reporting
-
Assist with account reconciliations, inventory analysis, and CIP tracking
-
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in system
CapEx Support and Investment Analysis

Manage CapEx planning, tracking and reporting processes
-
Assist in preparation of investment analysis (ROI, payback, etc)
-
Lead project expenditures and support capitalization activities
Financial Support, systems and continuous improvement

Mentor finance and cost analysist, ensuring high quality, timely financial support

Collaborate with Corporate Finance Mexico and US, IT, and Global Engineering Services on reporting, alignment and governance

Leverage ERP and planning tools (SAP S /4HANA, Essbase, etc) to enhance forecasting, reporting and analytics
Qualifications:
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree
-
Public Accountant, Finance, Costing.
Experience
-
Controlling or Cost Accounting
-
5+ years combined Manufacturing Accounting, Controller and/or Financial Planning, Project Controller.

Lead financial evaluation of capital projects from concept to execution
-
Develop and validate business cases supporting investment decisions
-
Strong competencies in analysis, goal setting, quality focus, communication, interpersonal relations, teamwork, leadership, customer service and risk management.

Strong knowledge in cost and SAP and Hyperion.
Language
Other Qualifications and Education
-
Certification in Costing or/and Finance desirable

Diploma Project Management preferred
