We are seeking a IP paralegal to join our firm. In this role, you’ll work closely with the firm’s attorneys and their clients by helping IP attorneys manage their dockets and provide drafts and research for the attorneys. A successful applicant should have experience in intellectual property law and be passionate about using technology to reduce the cost so that more people can obtain the legal services they need to help them better their lives.
Job Description
- Assist the team with USPTO Trademark Office Actions including docketing, research and initial drafting
- Research IP issues related to patents and trademark law.
- Generally assist senior IP attorneys with their caseloads.
- Draft and manage responses to subpoenas, governmental inquiries and other correspondence.
- Assist with monthly OFAC compliance reviews and data subject requests (DSRs).
- Contribute to Swyft Legal’s mission and help us strategically grow in our efforts to give more people access to legal services as we expand our services.
Profile
- 1-5 years of legal experience
- Experience in intellectual property law
- Passion for professional ethics
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to clearly explain legal concepts to non-attorneys and clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong computer skills
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
