BowerBird is an Australian online platform that connects architecture and design professionals with journalists so they can get their work published.
We are a fully remote, global team that values excellent work, direct feedback and daily improvement. We work with architects, designers and media professionals around the world, including people from many of the largest and most respected design publications.
We are looking for an experienced Sales Closer to help architects and designers decide whether BowerBird is right for them.
Your main responsibility will be conducting pre-booked sales meetings via Zoom with prospects who have already expressed an interest in BowerBird.
You will uncover what each prospect wants to achieve, understand what is preventing them from achieving it and show how BowerBird could support their business goals. You will present the platform, recommend the right plan, discuss pricing, handle concerns and ask directly for the sale.
You will also regularly call inbound leads who have engaged with BowerBird but have not yet booked a meeting. These are not random cold calls: they are people who have already shown an interest in what we do. Your job will be to understand why they became interested, determine whether there is a genuine opportunity and book an appropriate sales meeting.
Phone calls are part of this position, alongside email and other follow-up methods. You should be comfortable picking up the phone when it is the most effective way to start a conversation or move a lead forward.
-
Conduct pre-booked sales meetings with architects, interior designers and other design professionals.
-
Call inbound leads and convert suitable prospects into booked meetings.
-
Research prospects before each meeting.
-
Use needs-based discovery to understand each prospect’s business goals and challenges.
-
Connect BowerBird’s features to specific outcomes rather than delivering a generic demonstration.
-
Recommend the most suitable subscription plan.
-
Discuss price confidently and ask directly for the sale.
-
Explore the real issue when a prospect hesitates.
-
Agree on clear decision dates and next steps.
-
Follow up actively by phone and email.
-
Keep accurate prospect notes, tasks and records.
-
Review your sales meetings and apply regular coaching.
-
Work towards individual sales targets.
You will have:
-
C2 or native-speaker-level written and spoken English;
-
proven sales experience with personal responsibility for closing;
-
experience conducting sales meetings by phone or video;
-
confidence calling inbound leads;
-
experience using discovery questions to understand customer needs;
-
the ability to translate product features into commercial value;
-
confidence discussing price, handling objections and asking for a decision;
-
strong follow-up and organisational habits;
-
the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment;
-
a genuine interest in architecture, design, media or related creative industries;
-
the ability to work as an independent contractor while meeting the requirements of your local authorities.
Experience in SaaS, subscription sales, consultative sales, architecture, design, media or public relations will be highly regarded.
Because our prospects are based around the world, your English must be clear, natural and easy for international clients to understand. An accent is not a problem. Clear international communication is essential.
We like to skateboard. Not literally—that could end badly.
“Skateboarding” is how we describe daily improvement. Within the sales team, this means reviewing meetings, receiving specific coaching and applying one useful change at a time.
You will receive regular coaching and support, but you must genuinely enjoy being coached. We are looking for someone who can receive direct feedback, understand it and change their approach quickly.
This role will not suit someone who avoids phone calls, dislikes direct sales targets or does not want their sales meetings reviewed and coached.

A fully remote position.

-
The opportunity to work with architects, designers and media professionals worldwide.
-
A supportive global team.
-
BowerBird’s Grown-up Leave Program—our version of unlimited leave.
-
The opportunity to contribute to an Australian technology company working across architecture, design, media and AI.
Please submit your CV, LinkedIn profile and a thoughtful response, explaining why you want to join BowerBird and why this role suits you.
Your response should help us understand who you are, how you sell and why BowerBird interests you. Generic cover letters or summaries of our website will not help us assess your fit.
Before reaching the interview stage, we recommend exploring BowerBird and listening to at least one episode of the BowerBird Architecture Podcast.
If you are an experienced salesperson who enjoys discovery, closing, phone calls, coaching and continuous improvement, we would like to hear from you.
