Job Summary
We are seeking a Drafter to support electro-mechanical product design through detailed drafting and engineering documentation. This role goes beyond basic drafting, involving BOM management, engineering change implementation, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will work closely with Design Engineers and teams such as Production, Quality, and Planning to ensure accuracy, consistency, and manufacturability across all deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), assemblies, and part structures
- Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) accurately
- Apply drafting and design standards to ensure manufacturability
- Prepare complete drawing packages for production release
- Review drawings for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Planning)
- Maintain data integrity across CAD, PDM, and ERP systems
- Support standard product updates and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
- English Advanced
- 2–5 years of experience in drafting within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (assemblies, configurations, drawings)
- Experience with BOMs, ECOs, and part structures
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and PDM systems
- Understanding of drafting standards and GD&T basics
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
- Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
