We are currently looking for a talented Payroll Specialist to join our fast-growing company. As our future payroll specialist, you will work closely with the accounting, sales and product teams to improve Knit's processes and ensure that all our customers have a fantastic experience!
Please note that this position is currently remote but will transition to an in-Office role. As the company moves to an in-office environment, the office will be located in Mexico City,
Key Responsibilities:
Client Onboarding & Integration
- Perform an audit of new clients' existing payroll setup to ensure everything is configured correctly and the transition to Knit is seamless.
- Manage the integration process for new clients, ensuring all necessary information is accurately collected, processed, and input into our system.
- Initiate pre- and post-onboarding calls with clients to ensure all setup processes are completed correctly, and set clear expectations for the ongoing partnership.
Payroll Management & Auditing
- Fully accountable for the payroll and auditing functions for clients within a geographic region, ensuring compliance with both regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Responsible for scheduling and running payrolls for assigned clients, strictly following standard operating procedures.
- Perform quarterly and year-end audits, ensuring all payroll data is accurate, compliant, and archived properly.
- Maintain complete and accurate client profile notes and processing instructions for each client.
- Provide critical and accurate statutory information to clients in the area of payroll, including tax returns, using relevant resources and knowledge bases.
Client Support & Relationship Management
- Provide ongoing support to clients by solving payroll-related problems and answering inquiries.
- Collaborate with clients to improve processes and provide them with best practices to enhance their payroll and HR functions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client payroll concerns, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
Internal Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Organize, coordinate, and/or participate in cross-departmental projects, including the development of internal help documentation, best practices, and workflows.
- Become an expert on the Knit software platform and a multi-country payroll compliance specialist, capable of teaching and guiding others on all functionalities and features.
- Provide input and collaborate on strategies to continuously improve the client experience and optimize internal processes.
- Work closely with teams across the organization to streamline payroll processes and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Proficient in both spoken and written English & Spanish, with excellent communication skills.
- 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting or payroll analysis, ideally gained in a public accounting firm or payroll analyst role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create working papers, reconcile discrepancies, and analyze complex data sets using formulas, VLOOKUP, basic pivot, etc.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with a strong ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
- High degree of responsibility and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, adapting quickly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.

Pay: $17,000.00 - $27,000.00 per month
