Meaningful Work From Day One:
This position will be responsible for accounting related to certain corporate accounting functions. The analyst will ensure the accuracy of Brown-Forman’s financial records and compliance with controls. This position will primarily supervise accounting related to on-line bank statements and cash reconciliation processes for the company. The analyst will also be responsible for balancing inter-company transactions and documenting related party relationships in accordance with tax and legal requirements. Finally, this position will prepare additional monthly journal entries as designated by the Manager Consolidation Accounting and Analytics.
What You Can Expect:
Integrity of Financial Records.
Responsible for ensuring that Brown-Forman’s financial records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and management reporting.
Finance/Accounting:
This position will serve as a business partner to provide corporate accounting support to global accounting departments, as well as Treasury and Tax.
Provide guidance on corporate accounting policies and procedures.
Identify and implement measures to improve efficiency in current and future processes.
Observes, applies and ensures US GAAP and appropriate internal controls followed for the business.
Some specific accounting duties include:
Accounting for cash and certain treasury functions (including, but not limited to inter-company dividends, capital contributions, and inter-company loan settlements). This individual will serve as the global subject matter expert on FEBAN, the cash management application within SAP S/4HANA.
Act as primary global cash accounts Blackline approver.
Monitor intercompany accounting, resolve reconciliation issues, and manage a minimum of annual intercompany settlements.
Ensure related party transactions are properly documented and are being accounted for appropriately.
Monthly Benefits and Risk Management area postings, while serving as the primary accounting liaison with these functional.
Help Consolidation Manager oversee and administer the account reconciliation and manual journal entry review processes.
Other miscellaneous recurring and/or routine Journal Entries.
Special projects may include involvement with:
Government report compilation as needed.
Account reconciliation and journal entry approval deadline monitoring and process improvements.
Petty cash policy update and implementation.
Other areas of Corporate Accounting through shifting role responsibilities and/or cross-training.
What You Bring to the Table:
Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field plus a minimum of 4 years experience in Finance / Accounting -or- BS or BA in Accounting or Finance plus a minimum of two years experience in Finance / Accounting field.
Demonstrated working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting/analysis.
Proficiency using the Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams) Suite, including advanced spreadsheet tools and functions.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and with heavy workloads. Proven ability to complete high-quality work product within established time frames. Work with ambiguous situations with little supervision.
Strong analytical skills with ability to validate, analyze, and sort through large amounts of data and transform complex data into succinct, clear communications.
Possess the ability, desire, and skills necessary to interact with upper management and to advance within the organization.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
