The SAS Administrator will be providing production support and stabilization of SAS Grid environment hosted in our client’s data center. This person will be administrating and supporting ongoing operations for SAS Grid 9.4 platform integrated with other 3rd party systems, such as NAS, Citrix, Active Directory, among others. The SAS Administrator will also be supporting 15+ business units with 300+ end users (primarily SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Studio) and offering continuous improvement, performance tuning, and platform optimization.
- Provide day-to-day administration and maintenance of SAS Grid 9.4 platform in production.
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, implement tuning and optimization in addition to providing L1/L2 support to end users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents.
- Manage user access, security, and integration with AD and other enterprise systems.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams for upgrades, patches, and changes.
- Ensure platform stability, availability, and adherence to IT standards and SLAs.
- Administer, schedule, and maintain production jobs and participate in meetings to assess production support incidents.
- Work with upper management to ensure continuous improvement, performance tuning, and platform optimization.
- Drive SAS support activities across server, storage, and networking teams while working with internal provisioning authorization teams to keep SAS access in conformance with agency policy and auditing standards.
- Create and maintain connectivity to disparate data sources (NAS, Citrix, Active Directory, among others) and monitor the production processes, fix any issues, update the tracker document with the issues, and report the performance issues to management.
- Hands-on experience administering SAS Grid 9.4 (grid, mid-tier, metadata tier)
- Experience supporting SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Studio users in production
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and system automation
- Experience with AD integration, SSL, and authentication/authorization mechanisms
- Solid understanding of network, storage (NetApp), job scheduling, and file transfers
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment.
- Good communication skills to work with IT teams and business stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Bilingual in both English/Spanish (strong written & verbal skills) is preferred but not required
