The Senior Development Engineer is an experienced professional who leads software projects and teams across all skill dimensions. They design and architect solutions spanning application code, integrations, data pipelines, test frameworks, and infrastructure. They provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code review to team members, and are responsible for establishing and encoding engineering best practices — including AI agent configurations and prompt standards — that enable junior developers to work effectively across the entire stack. This position consolidates responsibilities formerly held by the specialized Senior Development Engineer, Senior Integration Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer, and Senior IT Data Engineer roles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Help design software, integration, data, and testing architecture; deliver high-complexity tasks across all skill dimensions as part of a team.
Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; lead peer review of code changes.
Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts; lead performance, load, and stress testing efforts, analyzing results and driving remediation.
Design patterns for APIs and Web Services (RESTful, SOAP, gRPC ), middleware and message brokers, ETL processes, and integration platforms. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
Oversee integration platform management ( SnapLogic , MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Apache Camel, Talend); respond to and resolve complex integration incidents with root cause analysis and preventive measures. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
Design and manage cloud infrastructure programmatically using Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ); design patterns for DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI , or equivalent).
Design patterns for security (authentication, authorization, encryption) and ensure compliance; design patterns for monitoring and troubleshooting (Splunk, ELK Stack, or equivalent).
Document code, architecture decisions, integration processes, APIs, and outcomes; help establish software product engineering best practices across all skill dimensions. Review and correct others. Scope: Enterprise.
Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree , or a significant amount of relevant experience. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Quantitative or Engineering Field preferred.
Design patterns for APIs, Web Services, Middleware, Message Brokers, ETL (integration & data patterns preferred).
Problem-Solving: Resolving complex challenges and escalations across development, integration, quality, data, and infrastructure.
