Job Description: Service Engineer – Fiber Optic Equipment
Location: Monterrey, Mexico

Position Summary
A US based company is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of fiber optic manufacturing equipment to be based in Monterrey. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with fiber optic termination processes and the test and measurement equipment used in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service fiber optic manufacturing and termination equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and optical issues
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Support fiber optic cable and connector termination processes
- Use and interpret results from fiber optic test equipment
- Train operators and technicians
- Prepare service documentation and reports in English
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
- Support new product introductions and equipment upgrades
- Travel locally and occasionally internationally as required
Required Qualifications
- Technical degree or engineering background in electronics, telecommunications, optics, or related field
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic manufacturing equipment
- Experience using fiber optic test equipment such as Optical Power Meters, Light Sources, Interferometers, and Insertion/Return Loss systems
- Strong understanding of fiber optic connectors, splicing, polishing, and termination
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-volume fiber optic manufacturing
- Familiarity with IEC, TIA, and Telcordia standards
- Field service or customer support experience
