Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita
Opening in early 2027, Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially broken ground and construction is well underway on Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, the brand’s first luxury resort in Mexico. Staying true to the brand’s mission of creating elevated places and spaces that are inspired by a destination, the resort’s exterior and interiors will pay homage to the local culture with a contemporary twist.
This beachfront resort will feature 244 guest rooms and suites and two 4-bedroom villas with sweeping views of the Bay of Banderas. Complementing the local area’s many attractions and activities, the resort will offer three original restaurant concepts, a destination spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools including adult-only and family-friendly options, a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor fitness center, and a kids club. Boasting over 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the Omni Pontoque will feature a 6,000 square foot ballroom, an open-air pavilion, multiple event lawns and dedicated meeting rooms, all of which provide breathtaking ocean views.
Purpose of the Position
Opening in early 2027, the Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita will debut as Omni Hotels & Resorts’ first owned-and-managed property in Mexico — a sanctuary of oceanfront beauty set to define a new benchmark for ultra-luxury hospitality in the region. With 202 elegantly appointed guestrooms, 42 expansive suites, and two private villas, a full-service spa, three infinity-edge pools, three signature restaurants, and 27,000 square feet of indoor and open-air event space, the resort invites guests into a realm of effortless sophistication.
The Director of Revenue Management role strategically leads the total hotel revenue management program for the resort’s guestrooms, food and beverage, meeting space, and ancillary revenue streams. The Director manages and maintains group and transient inventory controls, develops and adjusts pricing and sales strategies across all revenue-generating areas, and drives demand analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to maximize RevPAR and market share. Partnering closely with the General Manager and senior leadership, the Director ensures data-driven decision-making and distribution channel integrity from the resort’s pre-opening phase forward.
Essential Functions
Strategic Leadership & Cross-Departmental Partnership
- As an Executive Committee member, provide strategic leadership to the Rooms, Hotel Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Other Departments, contributing to superior revenue growth and overall profitability of the hotel by leading a creative and robust revenue management program consistent with luxury, full-service hotels and resorts.
- Strong functional expertise and entrepreneurial leadership to meet the business needs of the operation
- Support the General Manager, Rooms, Hotel Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Other Departments by providing pertinent information and tools to enhance the property’s sales and marketing efforts and decision-making processes
- Identify, communicate, and execute opportunities to increase incremental revenue based on historical demand, regional, seasonal, and competitive influences and market, group performance, price sensitivity by market segment, demand, and reservation costs across multiple sales channels
- This position, with assistance from the Director of Sales & Marketing, will provide short-term and long-term rooms revenue projections, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and full-year projections.
- Lead a consistent and robust revenue management program consistent with ultra-luxury, full-service resorts, in alignment with Omni Hotels & Resorts’ revenue management philosophy.
- Chair weekly revenue management meetings, presenting a synopsis of past strategies versus results and leading discussion on current and future pricing, distribution, and mix-management issues.
- Deliver training and information sessions on revenue management philosophy and practices on behalf of all revenue-generating positions across the resort.
Pricing, Inventory & Distribution Management
- Manage and maintain group and transient inventory controls, ensuring effective and efficient management of group inventory in coordination with Reservations and the Sales & Catering team.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust sales and pricing strategies for guestrooms, food and beverage, meeting space, and other ancillary revenue areas.
- Oversee channel management and optimization, managing inventory and rate structure across all distribution channels — GDS, OTA, and meta — to optimize revenue and margins while maintaining rate parity.
- Research and evaluate distribution channels and strategic partnerships to maximize the resort’s reach and revenue potential.
- Maintain superior working knowledge of CRS, RMS, and PMS systems to manage group and transient inventory and pricing controls, including as needed on weekends.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Lead development of key budgetary and forecast goals and objectives for transient and group market segments, providing budget-to-actual comparisons and monthly performance reporting.
- Prepare rolling 30-60-90 day transient revenue forecasts, and develop, monitor, and maintain all short- and long-term demand-based forecasts aligned with pricing strategy.
- Provide short-term and long-term rooms revenue projections — weekly, monthly, quarterly, and full-year — in partnership with the Sales & Marketing team.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly booking pace reports, recommending strategy adjustments based on pace-to-budget performance.
- Analyze demand factors, booking windows, and seasonality by market segment to inform pricing strategy and long-term strategic planning.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Analyze marketplace intelligence — including STR, Demand 360, Agency 360, and other available applications — and present revenue opportunities identified through the analysis.
- Review the resort’s and competitors’ rate positioning across multiple channels to ensure appropriate market positioning and assess the competitive landscape.
- Monitor demand, convention, and city event calendars to remain abreast of demand generators and ensure strategies reflect all relevant market intelligence.
- Identify, communicate, and execute opportunities to capture incremental revenue based on historical demand, seasonality, competitive dynamics, and price sensitivity by market segment.
- Explore market mix variations and emerging demand generation trends, translating analytical insight into actionable pricing and positioning recommendations.
Systems, Reporting & Business Partnership
- Oversee the monitoring and maintenance of revenue management software and interfaces, and support the resort through technical transitions affecting room revenue management as they occur.
- Utilize Omni’s space demand tools to analyze trends and provide insight for meeting space pricing and revenue optimization, in partnership with Sales & Catering.
- Coordinate with Convention Services and Reservations on group inventory management, including cutoff date extensions and inventory adjustments.
- Partner with field marketing and digital teams to optimize channel and social offers with relevant, timely, and revenue-driving promotions.
- Represent the Revenue Management function in leadership meetings, ensuring alignment with Omni Hotels & Resorts’ corporate standards and the resort’s pre-opening milestones.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bilingual English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Revenue Management in a full-service, upscale or ultra-luxury hotel or resort.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Revenue Management theory and practice across rooms, food and beverage, and other revenue streams.
- Proficiency with CRS, RMS, and PMS systems; IDEAS experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to perform critical analysis of demand, pricing, and distribution data.
- Proven ability to manage and collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments and outside agencies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations in a concise, well-organized manner.
- Strong organizational skills, sound time management, and the ability to prioritize and remain flexible under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a full understanding of professional business ethics, decorum, and social skills expected in an ultra-luxury environment.
- Detail-oriented, with appropriate professional appearance, demeanor, self-confidence, and enthusiasm.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, as required by group pick-up and pricing activity.
