Objective of the position:
Provide manufacturing support in chassis assembly, Torque tool expertise, and various other manufacturing processes for all DTNA Truck Assembly plants. Through concurrent engineering, identify production-related problems ahead of implementation into the plants. Provide engineering expertise and guidance on the specification, acquisition, and installation of equipment and truck components to ensure compliance with all government and safety regulations.
Lead teams of engineers in following through the design review and procurement process including budget preparation, justification, acquisition, facilities preparations, and equipment installation and training for assigned projects. Evaluate current assembly processes and assess capital investment plans for future production requirements.

Main Functions:

Participate in System Development Teams (SDT) on New Product Development Projects representing Manufacturing Engineering and Truck Manufacturing Plants.

Provide on-site tryout and pre-series coverage for New Product Introduction (NPI) vehicle builds and provide feedback, root cause analysis, and problem resolution support.

Apply project management skills and work closely with the plants, parts and equipment suppliers, and contractors to coordinate projects to their completion

Troubleshoot manufacturing problems at Daimler plants as they occur.

Support leadership team in developing a strategy to update current brown field facilities with Reference factory principals while being focused on: facilities modernization, connected systems, Factory 2033 systems, industry 4.0 principals and MCS.
