The Senior Materials Manager is responsible for leading all supply chain and materials management activities for West Coast Operations (WCO). This role oversees procurement, materials planning, production planning, and inventory control to ensure a continuous flow of materials and finished goods that meet customer demand.
The position operates with a high level of autonomy, driving site performance, enabling business value, and aligning materials strategy with organizational goals.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead end-to-end materials management operations, including procurement, materials planning, production planning, inventory control, and distribution.
- Oversee planning and purchasing operations to ensure uninterrupted material flow and on-time delivery to customers.
- Develop and execute materials management strategy aligned with business objectives, driving productivity and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with Demand Management to strengthen Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP/S&OP).
- Continuously improve materials management processes to optimize efficiency and business outcomes.
- Ensure accurate material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory optimization.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team (approx. 15 employees), including planners and buyers.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to team members and emerging leaders.
- Monitor and drive performance against key KPIs and operational metrics.
- Support annual physical inventory processes and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Oversee distribution activities to guarantee on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with Operations, Sales, Demand Planning, and leadership stakeholders.
Comply with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Quality policies and standards

YOU MUST HAVE:
- 5+ years of experience in Materials Management, including leadership roles.
- Proven people management experience.
- Strong experience in procurement, planning, and supplier scheduling.
- SAP or equivalent ERP system experience.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and lead change across organizations.
Fluent English (written and verbal).
