Role Purpose:
The Senior Accounting Analyst plays a key role in the finance department of Compañía de Seguros Generales Everest Mexico S.A. de C.V.. , responsible for managing various accounting functions to ensure accurate accounting closing, financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accounting Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams and supports continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
The Senior Accounting Analyst responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounting and local reports to the Insurance Regulator in compliance to Insurance regulation and/or NIF’s.
Calculation of assets impairment accruals, reconciliation processes, month, quarter and year-end processes and all the required adjustments to comply with Insurance Regulation as well as NIF’s.
Calculate and reporting all information related to the local taxes (SAT),
In charge of all the supplier's processes, including payment and booking expenses.
Analysis and reporting in a timely, reliable, and accurate financial information.
Compliance with regulatory requirements on time.
Responsible for coordinating the monthly accounting closing of full operations of the company.
Produces timely and consistent monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as well as all information required among all those described.
Manages the process of payment and registration of suppliers.
Keeps updated on the issuance of regulatory and legal accounting.
Supports the development of monthly estimates, quarterly forecasts, and annual plans for Insurance Premiums
Supports Financial Forecasting models and provides analyses to identify underlying trends and insights for decision-making.
Supports automation of reports and optimizes processes and data collection efforts.
Maintenance of the General Ledger (CoA) with all the changes and new rules under Local and US GAAP, including record of technical reverses.
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting experience
5+ years of working experience in the Insurance industry.
Accountant Bachelor’s degree or greater (Certified)
English language intermediate or advanced (plus)
· Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database tools.
Skills
Exceptional oral and written communication with the ability to concisely provide executive summaries to senior management.
Strong problem-solving analytical skills, with an ability to drive data analytics and make appropriate conclusions on results.
Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines across a variety of stakeholders to meet targets and deliverable dates.
Team oriented and ability to work effectively with peers.
Demonstrated bias for action with a high sense of urgency, strong work ethic and drive for results.
Experience in local taxes calculation and reporting
Experience with corporate governance and controls management, including processes and systems.
Experience with a wide variety of assignments around operational workflow including systems is an asset.
