SUMMARY
The Logistics Specialist (LS) manages transactional activities related to accounts and collaborates closely with transportation providers (Carriers) and internal support teams to identify opportunities for process improvement. The LS serves as the primary point of contact for daily transactional operations and assumes customer service responsibilities outside of regular business hours. The LS will contribute significantly to achieving ProTrans objectives by supporting the identification, analysis, and development of supply chain solutions aimed at enhancing the customer experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Communicate with carriers to confirm pickups and deliveries, address exceptions, and perform check calls within ProTrans’ TMS system.

Coordinate with the Border Crossing team to ensure smooth border crossings and inform customers of any deviations related to customs procedures.

Arrange expedited shipments as required by customers and maintain effective communication with ProTrans’ Expedite team.

Assist customer facilities in resolving daily operational issues promptly.

Escalate service level issues to the Operations Manager as necessary.

Keep customers informed of any performance exceptions, delays, or service disruptions.

Ensure timely distribution of reports (daily, weekly, monthly) as appropriate.

Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure billing processes are completed in a timely manner.

Follow up on tasks transferred from Logistics Coordinators and document all follow-up activities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.
QUALIFICATIONS

Critical Thinking / Problem Solving. Utilize problem solving skills and excellent customer service to resolve complex and intricate problems within supply chain and logistics plans.

Serve as an integral point-of-contact stationed between both ProTrans and Customer.

Remain compliant with Customs and C-TPAT regulations and procedures.

Ability to adapt and react to frequently changing circumstances within logistics.

Strong ability in time management and the maintenance of several occurring tasks and projects.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

+1 year of industry experience within logistics and supply chain and/or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation or business-related field.

Automotive logistics experience preferred, but not required.

Willing to travel both nationally and internationally to customer locations within the ProTrans International network.

Experience using web-based business intelligence tools and Microsoft Office.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

This role requires solid verbal and written communication skills in English (bi-lingual abilities in Spanish is preferred)

Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English and Spanish.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively in English and Spanish before a group of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, trends, statistical techniques and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs.
