We are seeking a senior full-stack developer to lead the transition of our web app development to an internal team, while driving value through the implementation of partner service API integrations. This pivotal role will report directly to the CTO and play a foundational part in shaping our technology culture and future team structure.
- Transition Leadership
- Guide the migration of web app development from external to internal resources.
- Establish best practices, coding standards, and scalable architecture for a growing team.
- Mentor and onboard future junior developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- API Integration & Internal API Expansion
- Design and implement robust integrations with partner service APIs.
- Continue building and refining our internal API to support new features and external connections.
- Ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable API solutions.
- MCP Server Development & Continuity
- Lead the design and eventual creation of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to support advanced application features.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies and protocols for MCP server implementation.
- Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the CTO to align technical strategy with business goals.
- Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable development plans.
- Technical Proficiency
- Deep experience with the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js) and JAMstack (JavaScript, APIs, Markup)
- Proven track record in building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Strong background in cloud deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with scalable backend architectures and NoSQL databases.
- Leadership & Mentorship
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical transitions and establish engineering best practices.
- Experience mentoring or onboarding junior developers.
- Comfortable making architectural decisions and setting technical direction.
- Startup Mindset
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced environment, ideally as a first or early technical hire.
- Willingness to wear multiple hats, including DevOps, architecture, and product planning.
- Communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and documentation
- Champion clear, version-controlled documentation using modern tools (Markdown, OpenAPI/Swagger, static site generators) to ensure accuracy and developer-first usability.
- Integrate documentation updates into the CI/CD workflow, maintaining up-to-date guides, API references, and architectural decisions as the codebase evolves.
- Foster a collaborative documentation culture-encouraging peer review, transparency, and contributions from all team members to support onboarding, scalability, and partner integration.
