Senior Logistics Specialist
About the Position
Comverge Tecnologías is seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Logistics Specialist to support and optimize our import, export, transportation, and supply chain operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products, maintaining strong relationships with logistics providers, and supporting the company's continued growth in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Responsible for coordinating and tracking import and export logistics operations, including sea, land, and air transportation.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transportation companies, warehouses, and customers to ensure goods are delivered safely and on time.
- Responsible for logistics cost inquiry, price comparison, and cost control, as well as reviewing logistics-related expenses and invoices.
- Prepare and review import and export documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs clearance documents.
- Track shipment status and promptly handle transportation issues, delays, and customer feedback.
- Responsible for HS CODE confirmation, import/export customs clearance coordination, and logistics process management.
- Responsible for logistics supplier development, evaluation, and daily management to maintain good business relationships.
- Coordinate shipment and delivery schedules with factories, warehouses, and customers, and arrange vehicles and loading/unloading operations.
- Organize logistics data and reports, and maintain transportation records and document filing.
- Complete other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate degree or above in Logistics Management, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of logistics experience, including at least 2 years of import and export logistics management experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international trade processes and Incoterms, including EXW, FOB, FCA, DAP, and DDP.
- Familiarity with ocean, air, and ground transportation operations. Experience managing international shipments between China and Mexico is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Mexican import and export regulations, customs clearance procedures (Pedimento), IMMEX programs, and related compliance requirements.
- Experience with HS Code classification, rules of origin, tariff regulations, and import/export documentation management.
- Proven experience in developing, evaluating, and managing logistics service providers, including freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation companies.
- Strong logistics cost analysis and cost control skills, with the ability to optimize transportation solutions and reduce logistics expenses.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, with strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively handle transportation exceptions, customs issues, and urgent logistics requirements.
- Good English communication skills, including business email correspondence, meetings, and logistics documentation handling.
