Position Objective
Ensure strict legal, tax, and customs compliance for IMMEX program operations and VAT/IEPS Certification. Optimize duty deferral for temporary raw metal imports, and secure a seamless cross-border logistical flow to the United States under the USMCA framework.
Critical Responsibilities (Mexico & IMMEX)

Annex 24 and 30 Management: Oversee the inventory control system for temporarily imported goods. Track legal stay limits closely to eliminate tax liabilities from expired materials.

USMCA Article 303 Application: Calculate and determine applicable duties for non-originating components integrated into steel exported to the US. Manage duty deferral restrictions and drawback formulas.

VAT/IEPS Certification Maintenance: Secure continuous compliance with SAT regulations to maintain the 100% tax credit on VAT for temporary imports.

Mill Certificates & Rules of Origin: Verify that steel meets the strict USMCA country-of-origin rules (specifically the "melted and poured" requirements) by auditing Mill Test Certificates.

Preventive SAT Audits: Lead internal audits on import (IN, AF) and export (RT) customs entries (pedimentos), ensuring accurate material discharge in the system.
Years of Experience

Total Professional Experience: 8 to 10+ years of progressive experience in International Trade, Customs, and Global Compliance.

Leadership / Management Experience: 3 to 5+ years in a managerial or senior supervisory role, directly leading trade compliance teams and managing relationships with customs brokers and government authorities.
