What does a Producer Trainee do at WPP Production?
The Producer Trainee is an entry-level position designed for a fast learner eager to enter the Audiovisual Industry within a major league environment. This role provides essential support to the team of Producers, assisting with various aspects of integrated production, including budgeting, scheduling, presentation arrangements, coordinating production events, executing pre-production tasks, and managing contractual and financial project aspects. The Trainee will also be responsible for tasks related to the physical infrastructure and equipment of the production facilities, under the supervision of the Head of Primary Production.
Key Responsibilities
- Support primary production activities, including but not limited to:
- Bidding and budgeting (Excel expertise desired).
- Scheduling and project follow-ups.
- Providing financial and technical support for all productions.
- Ensuring efficient utilization of WPP Production’s resources.
- Collaborating with account, creative, and client teams to ensure creative productions meet client expectations and remain on brand message, adapting to multiple time zones.
- Assisting with call sheets and access control with the security team for facilities and external productions.
- Utilizing internal online platforms for financial processes.
- Collaborating with Finance to ensure the Primary Production Tracker is accurate.
- Contributing to WPP Production Mexico and Worldwide office agencies culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, passion, and leading by example.
- Requirements
- Passionate and detail-oriented.
- Strong interest in shooting and production, as well as the advertising and audiovisual industry.
- Currently studying Business or Marketing. Communication and Film students must possess an analytical and number-oriented mindset.
- Interest in the latest production technology and innovations.
- Eagerness to learn how to support physical productions (from bidding to pre-production and shootings).
- Experience in preparing decks and presentations.
- Understanding of the social media landscape and best practices on relevant platforms (IG, FB, TikTok, YT).
- Advanced English is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively up, down, and laterally to project stakeholders within the agency.
- Ideal proficiency in MacOS and Microsoft Office.
- Though not required, production equipment knowledge and Adobe Creative Suite are an even bigger plus.
