What are we looking for?
We are looking for an NPI Maintenance Technician responsible for supporting the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and manufacturing readiness of new production lines and equipment.
The position will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Production, Quality, and external equipment suppliers to ensure new equipment and production lines are properly installed, maintained, and available for production.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and basic design/drawing interpretation skills. The ability to read and write technical information in English is important for working with equipment manuals, technical documentation, specifications, and supplier communications.
Activities of the position
- Support the installation, commissioning, start-up, and qualification of new production equipment and manufacturing lines.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, automation systems, fixtures, and auxiliary equipment.
- Develop, update, and execute preventive maintenance plans for new and existing equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic automation-related equipment issues.
- Support equipment modifications and improvements to increase reliability, uptime, safety, and maintainability.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, layouts, and technical documentation.
- Support NPI projects from equipment installation through production ramp-up and manufacturing handoff.
- Work with Manufacturing and Process Engineering teams to identify equipment risks and maintenance requirements during new line implementation.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and contractors during installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment modifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, spare-parts requirements, equipment history, and corrective-action documentation.
- Support root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in equipment acceptance, run-at-rate activities, and production readiness reviews.
- Follow all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and company procedures.
- Provide written technical communication in English when required.
Qualifications
- Technical degree or associate degree in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems, sensors, motors, drives, and industrial controls.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, layouts, and equipment documentation.
- Basic understanding of equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting new equipment or production line implementations is preferred.
- Availability to work with cross-functional teams and equipment suppliers during NPI launches.
