The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including purchase orders, production plans and timelines, manufacturer capacity allocation, and payments for goods from both local and
global suppliers. This role ensures compliance with supply agreement terms while maintaining close alignment with corporate Supply Chain strategies and cross-functional internal teams.
The position oversees all aspects of material management to support cost estimating and New Product Introduction (NPI) builds, from initial concept through mass production. Responsibilities include quoting, sourcing,
planning, procurement (including purchase order management), and proactively expediting open orders to ensure timely delivery.
The Purchasing Manager collaborates closely with Engineering, NPI, Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure high product quality, efficient inventory management, and uninterrupted supply to support sustainable business operations.
In addition, the role is responsible for developing and maintaining procurement reporting dashboards and communicating key performance indicators and results to leadership. This includes monitoring supplier
performance, purchase price variance (PPV), delivery metrics, and other operational indicators.
The Purchasing Manager builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with suppliers and conducts regular supplier performance evaluations. These evaluations focus on identifying opportunities for cost reduction, service improvement, capacity planning, and long-term supplier partnerships
The Purchasing Manager provides leadership and guidance to the purchasing team, advising buyers on sourcing strategies and tactical execution to ensure effective procurement operations and professional development of team members.
