The MOLYKOTE® Specialty Lubricants team is currently seeking an innovative Engineer with the desire to work within an industrial business that demands a strong customer and solutions focus. The person in this role will be responsible for understanding customer wear and friction challenges and translate into innovative specialty lubricant and tribology solutions to meet application performance and cost in use requirements. The candidate will collaborate closely with the regional business development professional and have responsibility to work independently with channel partners and customers. The role includes active engagement with Americas and Global R&D teams to develop new products to meet current and future needs. The candidate must be motivated to deliver positive results for the company, ability to work on multiple priorities in parallel, and have a strong desire to apply critical thinking through the scientific method to address issues and challenges that have a direct impact to the customer and business.
Main responsibilities:

Collaboration with customer, ranging from design engineers to end customer to identify application needs and translate into test design or product solution.

Deliver product and technology training to customers and channel partners.

Lead or participate as a core member of an engineering or product commercialization team.

Support the development of new and modified products to meet the customer and market needs.

Includes learning and understanding of various industry standards, and test methods.

Develop expertise with specialty test equipment specific to lubricants – includes collaboration with global tribologist.

Explore the unique properties of low friction coatings, and advanced lubricants to create value-added, differentiated solutions for our customers.

Participate in multi-function team including research & development, business development, marketing, supply chain, and others to deliver on team and business priorities.

Travel to customers and within the Americas region for training, meetings, etc. (~ 50%)
Qualifications:
-
B.S. in Engineering or hard science – Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred

Certified Lubricating Grease Specialist (CLGS), Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) is a plus
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary.

5 years of related experience in lubrication or tribology.

Demonstrated high level of competency of mechanical systems, knowledge of lubricating materials and basics of tribology.

Demonstrated high level of integrity, thoroughness, creativity, flexibility, initiative, problem solving skill and productive collaborative teamwork is a must.

Six Sigma Green Belt experience is a plus

Fluent in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus.

This is a 100% remote position requiring availability for frequent travel within the Monterrey/Nuevo León region, as well as travel throughout the Americas.
