Cazeta is seeking a Construction Estimator to support an international client on a large-scale construction project. This role will focus on quantity takeoffs, material quantification, cost estimating, and the preparation of detailed estimate breakdowns to support accurate budgeting and procurement throughout the project lifecycle.
This position will be based in Cazeta's Hermosillo, Sonora office, providing remote estimating support to project teams across the United States and other international offices. There is potential for a hybrid work model after an initial integration period.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, estimate breakdowns, and supporting documentation.
- Review architectural, structural, and civil plans to understand project scope and identify estimating requirements.
- Develop and organize scopes of work and itemized construction cost information.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with project budgets, cost comparisons, bid evaluations, and estimate revisions as design information evolves.
- Maintain organized estimating files, calculations, and supporting records.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, consistent, and prepared in accordance with client standards and project requirements.
Education and Experience
- Advanced English with the ability to communicate effectively with international teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, or preconstruction services.
- 3+ years of experience supporting U.S. construction projects or working with U.S.-based construction companies.
- Strong experience preparing quantity takeoffs, reviewing subcontractors’ proposals and performing cost comparisons.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with takeoff software such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST), PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Candidates with extensive estimating experience on large commercial or institutional projects may be considered for a higher salary within the stated range, based on qualifications. Salary may vary based on experience.
