In this role you will be responsible for supporting the early-stage development and design of awarded Seatbelt (SB) programs at our Toluca, Mexico facility. You will contribute to concept development, prototype creation, design validation, and production-ready product designs, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, engineering standards, and manufacturing feasibility.
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:
Develop and maintain conceptual packaging layouts and 3D product designs, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, manufacturing requirements, and Autoliv design standards.
Create and release production-ready 3D models and engineering drawings, including B-side features, tooling feasibility details, die-cast components, and associated hardware.
Manage and maintain engineering data, CAD models, and product documentation using Siemens Teamcenter, ensuring accuracy and configuration control throughout the product lifecycle.
Apply GD&T principles, perform design reviews, and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet tooling, assembly, quality, and production requirements.
Partner with global engineering and design teams to support program development, provide on-site design support as needed, and participate in domestic and international travel to support project objectives.
If you have/are:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience with CATIA V5 CAD software, including Advanced Part Design, Assembly Design, Parametric Modeling, Boolean Operations, and Basic Surface Design.
Ability to create, modify, and interpret 3D models and engineering drawings in support of product development and manufacturing requirements.
Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated team-oriented mindset, including active participation in design reviews, problem-solving activities, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
