#LI-Hybrid Team Overview:
The Tax Senior Manager Fintech will lead the development and execution of DiDi's financial services strategy, driving the design, launch, and scale-up of financial products (payments, credit, insurance, digital wallet, and other embedded services) within the platform ecosystem. This role is critical to diversifying the business's revenue streams, strengthening the value proposition for drivers and users, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a highly regulated financial environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Defining and executing the financial products strategy since the tax perspective (payments, credit, insurance, wallet) aligned with business objectives.
- Leading strategic relationships with banks, payment processors, insurers, fintechs, and financial regulators in order to implement new products
- Partnering with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Product on the design of financial solutions that comply with applicable banking, payments, and financial data protection regulations.
- Assessing the financial and regulatory feasibility of new products and markets within the fintech vertical.
- Overseeing the tax implications of fintech initiatives, including credit risk, fraud, profitability, and adoption metrics.
- Managing due diligence processes, audits, and regulatory reviews in coordination with internal and external teams.
- Strengthening corporate governance, internal controls, and documentation for financial products.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to Finance, Legal, Operations, Expansion, and Product teams.
Role Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and postgraduates in tax
- 8-12+ years of proven professional experience in taxes for financial sector (banking, payments, fintech, insurance, or other regulated financial services).
- Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of Mexico's financial and regulatory ecosystem, including frameworks applicable to multiple banking institutions, SOFIPOs, loans and/or insurance entities.
- Hands-on leadership of negotiations with partners and financial institutions, audit processes, and interactions with sector regulators.
- Proven experience advising on or leading fintech, digital banking, platform, or digital economy business models is highly desirable.
- Advanced Spanish and professional-level English for direct interaction with regional and global stakeholders.
