We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to scale data classification and make it operational across our platforms, from signal ingestion to trusted metadata. You will create internal tooling, work closely with governance, legal, and security partners, and increase automation while keeping humans in the loop where needed. Responsibilities

Define and evolve a data classification approach, including an in-house classification system and integration with signal providers

Develop internal tooling that translates classification signals into dependable, actionable metadata in DataHub

Implement human-in-the-loop review workflows for low-confidence automated classification outcomes

Integrate and assess classification signal providers such as Wiz and Cyera within the broader platform ecosystem

Contribute to the rollout of DataHub LLM and pattern-based classifiers for warehouse assets, starting with Databricks

Prototype an internal classifier pipeline that maps sample data to classification output as a complement to third-party signals

Partner with data governance, legal, and security stakeholders to align classification with taxonomy and regulatory obligations

Support access-governance efforts by applying classification outputs to inform access right-sizing for sensitive data
Requirements

Solid background with 5+ years in platform engineering roles

Demonstrated leadership ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment

Proven track record delivering internal platforms or developer tooling from concept to rollout

Hands-on experience with DataHub metadata management

Practical experience working within Databricks data ecosystems

Production experience operating MongoDB environments

Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

Understanding of Privacy Management concepts and regulatory-driven classification needs

Knowledge of LLM evaluation methods for classification quality and drift
