The Integrated Solutions Well Engineer is responsible for executing well engineering activities across the full lifecycle of wells, ensuring alignment with the Integrated Solutions Management System, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
This role plays a key part from concept and tendering stages through planning, execution, and project close-out. With a strong focus on completions, workover operations, and well intervention programs, the engineer provides technical expertise, operational support, and continuous improvement insights. The position requires close collaboration with HSE, operations, commercial, and service delivery teams to ensure well integrity, safety, and optimized performance.
As an Integrated Solutions Well Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing well designs, technical requirements, and operational plans for completions, workover, and intervention activities
- Supporting tendering phases with engineering input while collaborating with commercial and procurement teams
- Developing detailed well programs and procedures, including intervention and repair (workover) operations
- Utilizing tools such as VCDSE to support engineering design and planning activities
- Defining required technical services and coordinating third-party involvement
- Preparing cost estimates, operational timelines, and project schedules
- Building risk registers and contingency plans with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring daily progress of operations and tracking project expenditure
- Ensuring compliance with HSE standards and promoting a strong safety culture
- Engaging with customers and stakeholders through technical presentations and operational updates
- Tracking KPIs and benchmarking performance against defined objectives and offset well data
- Supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Preparing technical documentation including End of Well Reports and lessons learned
- Ensuring proper data management in line with company procedures
- Driving continuous improvement through best practices and technology adoption
Specific Responsibilities
The
Well Engineer – Completions/Workover will focus on:
- Well completion and workover (well repair) operations
- Design and execution of well intervention programs
- Optimization of well performance during post-drilling phases
- Application of engineering tools and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
- Have 5+ years of experience in well construction, completions, workover, or intervention operations
- Demonstrate experience in well design, intervention programs, simulations, or field operations
- Have strong knowledge or exposure to VCDSE (Virtual Collaborative Design System Environment)
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in complex environments
- Show excellent communication skills with a minimum English level of B2 (intermediate), to be evaluated
- Be proficient in MS Office, Power BI, and well engineering software tools
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and stakeholders
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in completions, workover, and well intervention operations
- Exposure to different well types (conventional, horizontal, unconventional)
- Well control awareness
- Basic knowledge of geomechanics
- Experience working in integrated or cross-functional project environments
