Job Brief
We are looking for a talented SSI scuba Instructor to serve as the Branch Manager for our Cozumel, Mexico location. You will be responsible for developing the branch and overseeing all areas of operation, and for all work performed at the branch. You will manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the branch by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable sales targets achievement.
You must be allowed to work in Mexico.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Here’s a quick overview of what we expect from you:
- Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration and sales.
- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.
- Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans.
- Meet goals and metrics.
- Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately.
- Bring out the best of branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation.
- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
- Share knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.
- Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly.
- Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws.
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company.
- Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration.

- BA/BS degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or equivalent preferred.
Education and Experience
An undergraduate degree in sales, marketing, business, or communications preferred. A masters is highly desirable, but really, experience with a proven track record of business development is what we’re after. We will consider those with less experience and education, but you will want to really make an impression and sell us on why you should sell for us.
Language Skills
English is required. Croatian is essential, though these days you don’t have to be perfectly fluent. Other languages such as German, French, and Spanish are highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Qualifications
An OWSI instructor certification, in good standing, from a major agency preferred. We will train the right person to higher levels within the SSI framework. Good interpersonal, communication, sales and Customer Service skills are necessary. Ability to operate computer equipment and applicable programs is required.

Compensation
This position is paid based on performance; if you’re good at sales (or you want to learn how to become good at sales), you’ll easily create value for you, customers, and the organization. Therefore, we pay a a generous commission for the sales for courses and products.
