Job Description:
Join us as a Supplier Quality Lead and take ownership of supplier quality operations that directly impact our products and customers. You'll lead a dedicated team, partner with suppliers to solve complex quality challenges, and drive measurable improvements across the supply chain.
The Supplier Quality Lead — leads day-to-day supplier quality operations for the plant's HVAC component and materials supply base. This role owns supplier problem resolution, corrective action, and quality metrics, and leads a team of supplier quality engineers to reduce defects, strengthen supplier performance, and improve overall product reliability.
The position requires strong quality engineering fundamentals, hands-on supplier management experience, and the leadership skills to plan, prioritize, and direct the work of a supplier quality team. The manager makes independent tactical decisions within approved budgets, policies, and procedures, and partners with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve escalated quality issues and drive lasting corrective action.
What will you do?
Supplier Quality Operations & Team Leadership

Manage day-to-day supplier quality operations for HVAC components and materials (coils, compressors, sheet metal, motors, controls, electrical/electronic components) and conducting performance reviews.

Ensure incoming materials, components, and services from suppliers meet required quality standards and specifications.

Report to CS & Q Manager, manage departmental objectives, and priorities in alignment with plant and business quality goals.
Problem Resolution & Corrective Action

Lead problem resolution with suppliers on nonconforming material, ensuring root-cause corrective action and non-recurrence.

Drive 8D, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes with suppliers on escalated or recurring quality issues.

Look across the supply base for similar parts, processes, or suppliers that may carry the same risk, and drive proactive containment.

Own final disposition decisions on nonconforming supplier material in coordination with engineering and manufacturing.
Quality Metrics & Continuous Improvement

Compile, maintain, and report supplier quality metrics (PPM, scorecards, cost of poor quality) for the assigned supplier base.

Analyze quality trends and data to identify improvement opportunities and prioritize supplier development activity.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and supplier-related downtime.

Present supplier quality performance and improvement plans to plant and business leadership.
Supplier Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Support supplier qualification, PPAP/APQP activities, and new-supplier onboarding for HVAC components.

Partner with sourcing/procurement on supplier selection, scorecards, and business review input from a quality perspective.

Work with engineering and manufacturing to align supplier quality requirements with product design and process capability.

Conduct or coordinate supplier audits and drive supplier quality system improvement plans.

Requirements

Able to work onsite in Ramos Arizpe Coahuila
-
Bachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Advanced english level
-
7+ years of supplier quality or quality engineering experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, components, and terminology (coils, compressors, controls, sheet metal, refrigerant systems).

Demonstrated experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5-Why, fishbone).

Experience with supplier quality tools and processes, including PPAP, APQP, SPC, and supplier scorecards.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to assess supplier conformance.

Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and direct the work of a team.

Strong negotiation and influencing skills to drive corrective action and accountability with suppliers.
-
Strong cross-functional communication skills, with experience working alongside sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
