Alegro Industries is an independent electronic components distributor with over 30 years of global operations. As we continue expanding our presence in Mexico, we are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Sourcing Specialist to support our purchasing and supplier development activities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys identifying opportunities, building supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and working in a fast-paced environment where responsiveness and business acumen directly impact success.
What You'll DoSupplier Sourcing & Development
- Identify, qualify, and develop new suppliers across domestic and international markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and trading partners.
- Expand the company's supplier network to support purchasing and sales objectives.
Purchasing & Negotiation
- Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and availability.
- Compare purchasing options and recommend the best sourcing strategy based on cost, availability, and customer requirements.
- Support procurement activities to maximize profitability and inventory availability.
Market Research & Opportunity Identification
- Monitor market trends, pricing changes, shortages, and inventory availability.
- Identify sourcing opportunities involving excess, surplus, overstock, or hard-to-find inventory.
- Conduct supplier and market research to support strategic purchasing decisions.
Sales Support
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to support customer RFQs and sourcing requests.
- Provide accurate supplier information, pricing, and lead-time updates.
- Assist in securing inventory that meets customer requirements.
Administrative & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate supplier records, quotations, purchase activities, and sourcing data.
- Update and manage information within ERP, CRM, and internal systems.
- Prepare supplier comparisons, pricing analyses, and sourcing reports.
Basic RequirementsExperience
- 2+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, vendor development, supply chain, or related commercial roles.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing purchasing activities.
- Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, trading, electronics, industrial, or related industries preferred.
Language Skills
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
- Ability to communicate professionally with international suppliers.
Technical Skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with ERP, CRM, or procurement systems.
- Strong analytical and data comparison abilities.
