Job Description:
We're hiring a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing strategy, optimize costs, and build supplier relationships that drive business success. If you're a strategic thinker who loves leading teams and delivering measurable results, this role offers high visibility and real impact.
The Procurement Manager —leads strategic sourcing and supply chain execution for a custom, and engineer-to-order HVAC equipment portfolio. This role owns supplier selection, cost, and delivery performance for project-specific components and assemblies, ensuring every engineered order ships on time, at target cost, and to specification.
The position requires strong commercial acumen, technical fluency in HVAC systems and components, and the ability to manage sourcing for non-standard, project-driven demand rather than repetitive production volumes. The manager will partner with engineering, project management, manufacturing, quality, and sales to translate custom design requirements into reliable, cost-effective, and on-time supply solutions.
What will you do?
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
-
Own the supplier base for HVAC components (coils, compressors, fan motors, controls, sheet metal, copper piping, refrigerant, electrical & electronic materials) supporting an engineer-to-order production model.
-
Qualify, develop, and manage suppliers capable of delivering custom or semi-custom parts against variable, project-driven specifications.
-
Negotiate pricing, terms, and capacity commitments; manage supplier contracts and long-term agreements.
-
Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, and on-time delivery, driving corrective action when needed.
ETO Program Procurement
-
Translate engineering bills of material and project-specific drawings into accurate, timely purchase orders.
-
Manage procurement schedules against project milestones, protecting critical path dates for custom-engineered orders.
-
Coordinate with engineering early in the quote-to-order cycle to flag long-lead items, cost drivers, and sourcing risk before design freeze.
-
Support make-vs-buy analysis and design-for-procurement input on new configurations.
Cost & Supply Chain Optimization
-
Lead cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives across the HVAC component base without compromising lead time or quality.
-
Identify opportunities for standardization, alternate sourcing, or dual-sourcing to reduce single-source and lead-time risk.
-
Track material cost trends, commodity risk, and supply market conditions relevant to HVAC inputs (steel, copper, aluminum, electronics).
-
Manage inventory and expedite strategies to balance working capital against ETO delivery commitments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
-
Partner with project management to communicate procurement status, risks, and mitigation plans on active orders.
-
Work with quality and engineering to resolve supplier non-conformances and drive root-cause corrective actions.
-
Support sales and estimating with sourcing input and lead-time data during the proposal stage.
