Position Summary:
As a Project Manager within Strategic Operations based in Mexico, this role will lead cross-functional projects that improve manufacturing performance, support new model and product introductions, strengthen operational readiness, and deliver business improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer service. The Project Manager will translate Strategic Operations priorities into actionable project plans, coordinate resources across local and enterprise functions, manage project risks and financial commitments, and provide clear status updates and recommendations to Strategic Operations and business leadership. The role is expected to partner closely with operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, product teams, and external suppliers to ensure project execution is aligned with Polaris objectives and Mexico manufacturing needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Decisive, action-oriented, self-motivated, and able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills with ability to engage all levels of the organization, including Strategic Operations leadership, enterprise leadership, suppliers, customers, and outside agencies.
Ability to manage projects across manufacturing operations, including footprint optimization, product rationalization, business strategy, capacity and investment planning, quality, productivity, launch readiness, and process improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years related experience, preferably in manufacturing, operations, project management, or a similar industry.
Demonstrated high personal integrity and ethics.
Bilingual English/Spanish capability preferred to support Mexico-based communication, supplier engagement, and enterprise alignment.
Fast-paced office and manufacturing environment with regular interaction across local and enterprise teams.
Based in Mexico; travel required up to 15% or more depending on business needs.
May require flexibility to support project milestones, production schedules, launch events, supplier activities, and cross-site meetings.
Position overview:
This role will work closely with Strategic Operations leadership and enterprise operations partners. These duties may include but are not limited to:
Lead project planning and execution for Strategic Operations initiatives in Mexico, including scope, schedule, resources, deliverables, risks, and communication plans.
Support new model introductions and product/process changes by coordinating manufacturing readiness, launch sequencing, validation milestones, and cross-functional issue resolution.
Develop project scenarios, timelines, and business cases that support capacity planning, capital investment, productivity, labor planning, quality improvements, and operational cost objectives.
Partner with operations, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, logistics, quality, finance, sourcing, service, and product teams to align project deliverables with business requirements.
Drive implementation of production, productivity, quality, safety, and customer-service standards within assigned projects.
Evaluate insourcing, outsourcing, localization, supplier readiness, and process optimization opportunities as needed to support Strategic Operations and enterprise manufacturing strategies.
Represent the Strategic Operations point of view in cross-functional initiatives, network strategy discussions, vertical integration efforts, and acquisition or integration activities as assigned.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with operations, business leadership, suppliers, and functional partners to ensure alignment, support, and effective project execution.
Manage project teams consisting of functional areas such as manufacturing, quality, supply chain, engineering, finance, sourcing, service, testing, design, development, and technical publications.
Present project status, risks, financial performance, milestones, and recommended actions to Strategic Operations leadership and senior management.
