About the role
At DFX5 we build and deliver software and technology solutions that move our clients' businesses forward. We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of complex software and IT projects — from kickoff to go-live — keeping teams aligned, stakeholders informed, and outcomes on scope, on time, and on budget. You'll be the connective tissue between engineering, product, design, and the client, turning ambiguous goals into clear plans and shipped results.
This is a senior, high-ownership role for someone who has run multiple software delivery projects, thrives in fast-moving environments, and knows how to lead without waiting to be told what to do.
What you'll do
- Lead the full lifecycle of software/IT consulting projects: mobilization, planning, execution, testing, go-live, and post-deployment support.
- Define scope, timelines, budgets, and success metrics with stakeholders, and manage them proactively as things change — understanding that the plan is a hypothesis refined by engineering feasibility.
- Own the milestone gate process: package deliverables, coordinate customer review, and obtain formal sign-off at each phase transition before the project advances.
- Author and own key project documents: Project Plan, Risk Plan and Communication Plan.
- Manage the Change Request process and lead the Change Advisory Board after scope approval — no informal scope additions.
- Run Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives) and adapt Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches to fit each engagement.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams (engineers, tech leads, QA), removing blockers and keeping delivery on track — without managing engineering decisions directly.
- Own risk, issue, and dependency management through a living RAID log — anticipating problems before they derail the roadmap.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal leadership, delivering structured weekly status reports (RAG) and managing escalations through defined paths.
- Track budgets, resource allocation, and capacity, and report on health, velocity, and forecasts.
- Negotiate scope interpretation against fixed timelines and budgets in fixed-price engagements.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, tooling, and team practices.
What you bring
- 6+ years managing software/technology projects, including 3+ years in a senior or lead PM capacity.
- Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and on budget in a consulting or professional services environment (fixed-price and/or T&M engagements).
- Strong command of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and traditional/waterfall approaches, and the judgment to know when to use each.
- Experience producing formal project documentation, project plans, risk plans, or equivalent deliverables.
- Hands-on experience with project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud environments (you don't need to be an architect, but you understand the landscape your teams work in).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills — especially managing scope conversations against contractual constraints.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), so you can speak the language of engineering teams.
- Fluent Spanish (client-facing communication in LATAM markets). Fluent English required.
Education & certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems/Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, IT, Business, or a related field (Master's or MBA a plus).
- One or more of the following certifications strongly preferred: PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM/PSM), PRINCE2, or SAFe Agilist.
