What You’ll Do
As a Cloud Engineer, you will support Teradata’s as-a-service cloud offerings across public cloud environments (Azure and GCP). You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical customer platforms while collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include cloud infrastructure operations, security implementation, incident management, and continuous optimization of cloud-based data warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support mission-critical, 24x7 public cloud environments across Azure and GCP for multiple customers.
- Execute risk assessments during task execution to ensure platform stability and minimize service impact.
- Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including compliance and governance controls.
- Monitor system throughput, load balancing, and overall platform health; proactively optimize critical cloud resources.
- Provide real-time troubleshooting and issue resolution, including participation in live customer calls and incident bridges.
- Respond promptly to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for cloud configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate across globally distributed teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues.
- Ensure consistent achievement of SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs, with a strong focus on customer experience.
Who You’ll Work With
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including SRE, DevOps, Product Engineering, Governance, Cloud Service Delivery, and Service Experience Managers.
Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the successful delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing support of cloud-based systems.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and operational best practices.
- Basic knowledge of public cloud services (Azure and GCP).
- Basic knowledge of Linux administration and Shell Scripting
- Basic working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, DB2, or similar).
- Strong English communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, distributed team.
- Any desirable certifications: ITIL, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Relevant Vantage certifications are preferred, such as Teradata Vantage Certified Associate or Teradata Vantage Administration.
