IVI Android Developer
Location: [Tecnoparque] – 100% On-site
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Level: Senior / Intermediate
About the Role
We are seeking a highly technical and rigorous IVI Android Developer to join our engineering team on-site, dedicated to delivering next-generation In-Vehicle Infotainment systems for Satyam Venture Engineering Services.
In this role, you will dig deep into the software stack to design, optimize, and integrate complex IVI features. You will work directly with hardware benches and vehicle architectures, requiring your physical presence on-site to flash, debug, and validate solutions in real-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modify low-level and high-level software components for Ford’s IVI platform, focusing on stability, boot-time optimization, and memory management.
- Develop and customize Android Automotive OS (AAOS) system services, Vehicle Hal (VHAL), and native middleware layer components.
- Debug complex, multi-threaded system issues across user-space and kernel-space using advanced debugging tools.
- Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and flashing on physical benches and reference hardware.
- Collaborate closely with system architects and global Ford engineering teams to align on technical requirements and API designs.
- Drive code quality through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and compliance with automotive software standards.
Advanced Technical Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in embedded systems, with at least 3 years explicitly focused on Automotive IVI.
- Core Languages: Deep, production-level proficiency in Modern C++ (C++11/14/17) and Java/Kotlin.
- OS & Architecture:
- Strong expertise in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) internal architecture (Framework, JNI, AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, and Car Service).
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux or QNX internals, including IPC mechanisms, multi-threading, and synchronization.
- Automotive Networks & Protocols:
- Solid understanding of vehicle networking protocols: CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet (SOME/IP).
- Proficiency with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) for bus monitoring, simulation, and diagnostics (UDS/ISO 14229).
- Tools & Debugging:
- Advanced debugging skills using GDB, ADB, Logcat, Systrace/Perfetto, and memory analyzers (Valgrind, AddressSanitizer).
- Experience with build systems like Android Build System (Soong/Make), Yocto Project, or CMake.
- Workflow & Compliance:
- Mastery of Git, Gerrit, Jira, and Jenkins/CI-CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) process models and MISRA C++ guidelines.
- Language: Fluent professional English (both written and verbal) is mandatory for direct client communication and technical documentation.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Prior experience working on Ford-specific IVI platforms or architecture (e.g., SYNC evolution).
- Experience with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity stacks, Projection modes (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto), or Audio/Video bridging (AVB).
- Familiarity with Hypervisors (e.g., QNX Hypervisor, COVESA/AGL standards).
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and premium benefits package.
- Direct exposure to cutting-edge automotive technologies and Ford's global platforms.
- Access to fully-equipped engineering labs and testing benches.
- Career advancement paths within automotive software engineering.
