Senior Tax & Accounting Specialist
Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco
Work Schedule: 100% On-site / Technology Park, Carretera a Nogales Km 13.5 Guadalajara, Zapopan, Jal.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Tax & Accounting Specialist to join a growing global technology and manufacturing organization.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in general accounting, Mexican tax compliance, month-end and year-end close activities, and financial reporting. This position works closely with global teams, making advanced English communication a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Calculate and manage federal and state tax obligations, including ISR, VAT, ISN, and other applicable taxes.
- Prepare Electronic Accounting filings, DIOT, and other tax compliance reports.
- Coordinate tax information with external accounting firms and tax advisors.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican tax and accounting regulations.
- Coordinate payroll-related activities with an external payroll provider.
- Process accounting entries, banking transactions, and support treasury activities.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations, reporting, and periodic inventory reviews as required.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in general accounting and Mexican tax compliance.
- Solid experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations, including ISR, VAT, DIOT, Electronic Accounting, IMSS, and INFONAVIT.
- Experience working with external accounting firms or service providers.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Advanced conversational English.
Preferred
- Experience with NetSuite.
- Knowledge of CONTPAQi.
- Experience in multinational, manufacturing, or technology companies.
- Experience coordinating payroll processes with external payroll vendors.
- Experience with inventory accounting and inventory controls.
