As an Import / Export Analyst you will manage our Foreign Trade operations by ensuring compliance with customs regulations and applicable trade promotion programs, including IMMEX, PROSEC, Rule 8, and certifications. Coordinate and improve these operations through the efficient management of land, sea, and air import activities, document control, and coordination with customs brokers, carriers, and logistics service providers. The objective is to guarantee the supply of materials and goods required by our company, minimize risks and costs, and maximize the benefits derived from international trade programs and agreements.
You will report to International Commerce Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, control, and oversee land, ocean, and air import operations.
Update operational reports to provide visibility and support to other teams.
Maintain knowledge and ensure handling of hazardous materials.
Ensure compliance with non-tariff regulations and restrictions, including the applicability of Mexican Official Standards (NOMs).
Manage IMMEX, PROSEC, Rule 8, and Certified Company programs.
Ensure customs documentation complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Use Foreign Trade programs and agreements to create import cost savings (e.g., trade agreements, incentive programs).
Ensure compliance with government customs requirements.
Apply and manage Incoterms in international trade operations.
Audit, and approve customs entries (pedimentos) and related payments.
Provide follow-up on critical or urgent import/export operations.
Coordinate transportation resources for the collection of materials from ports and customs warehouses.
Implement opportunities to improve logistics costs.
Liaise and maintain relationships with customs brokers across the customs ports operated by PPG.
Work with shipping lines and freight forwarders.
Stay current on international trade regulations, industry developments, and change applicable to our company.
Demonstrate in managing operational requirements and priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Trade, or a related field.
5 years in the Foreign Trade area, managing import operations, including both operational and legal/customs compliance aspects.
Knowledge of import promotion programs and trade incentive schemes.
Knowledge of International Logistics.
Fluent english.
Knowledge of Customs Law, import promotion programs, and import benefit schemes.
Experience with OneSource, ANA, and Oracle systems.
Knowledge and practical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
