The Sub Controller is responsible for providing high-level support to Controller as they manage a company’s accounting and financial activities. Their
duties include producing financial summary statements, planning and coordinating budgets and business planning activities in alignment with corporate
policies and practices and correcting inaccuracies in a company’s financial records.
Also could give support to Controller to implement new financial policies to help meet or exceed corporate goals and determine more effective ways to
handle local finance, tax matters, regulatory compliance, and the Company’s growth.
· Manage all finance and accounting functions, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition mainly,
among others.
· Provide leadership and oversight for all Finance and IE teams, and legal matters.
· Oversee month-end closing and supervise monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and other operational reports as needed.
· Oversee Company’s balance sheets and deliver summary reconciliation reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
· Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure that all payroll deductions and activities comply with payroll laws.
· Oversee all activities related to federal and state tax compliance.
· Recommend preventative and corrective actions needed, based on the audit findings, and general company best practices.
· Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.
· Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows of the business.
· Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the Company to achieve the business objectives.
· Integrate and trains new staff when needed.
· Shares best practices across global finance team.
· Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various
departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
· Monitor and implement business internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity,
safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
· Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements.
· Oversee Product costs estimations to support quoting activities.
· Conduct quarterly reviews of the annual operating plan or forecasts.
· Ensures that foreign trade operations are carried out in accordance with the corresponding regulations.
· Manages, and provides leadership in obtaining and maintaining certifications and licenses needed for operations.
Academic Background:
- Bachelor of Accounting (preferably a Master)
- Valid Certified Public Accountant Status
- Work Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a management-level accounting position
Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of tax laws and codes
- Mastery of the accounting software required
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
- Cost accounting experience
- Strong understanding and knowledge of operational processes
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
