OTA Engineer
Location: Tecnoparque, CDMX.
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Level: +4 years
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical OTA Engineer to drive the validation, deployment, and troubleshooting of firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) and software-over-the-air (SOTA) update campaigns for SATYAM VENTURE ENGINEERING SERVICES connected vehicles. In this role, you will bridge the gap between cloud infrastructure and embedded vehicle architectures. You will be responsible for ensuring that complex multi-ECU software orchestration updates execute flawlessly, securely, and without breaking vehicle dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Orchestration & Campaign Deployment: Plan, configure, and monitor mass OTA update campaigns using cloud-based vehicle management platforms, ensuring correct dependency mapping between modules.
- Deep-Dive Root Cause Analysis: Triage complex flashing and deployment failures. Extract, decode, and analyze vehicle logs, cloud logs, and telemetry data to isolate root causes.
- Network & Protocol Verification: Validate diagnostic communication sequences and flashing sequences over vehicle networks using network simulation tools.
- Cyber Security Compliance: Validate that OTA software packages comply with cryptographic security requirements (e.g., code signing, secure boot, certificates) under ISO 21434 frameworks.
- HIL Validation: Design and execute automated test cases on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) rigs to simulate real-world OTA edge cases (e.g., power loss during flashing, network dropouts).
Enhanced Technical Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Automotive Engineering.
- Experience: 4+ years of proven experience specifically in Automotive Embedded Software, Connected Vehicle Systems, or OTA validation.
- Network & Diagnostics Protocols (Critical):
- Expert command of UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services - ISO 14229) and DoIP (Diagnostics over IP).
- Deep understanding of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet physical and data-link layers.
- OTA Mechanics & Architecture:
- Solid knowledge of bootloaders, dual-bank memory partitioning, and cybersecurity-driven flashing routines (Secure Flash).
- Familiarity with Delta-flashing techniques and compression algorithms used in automotive ECUs.
- Tooling & Software:
- Advanced proficiency with Vector Tool Chain (CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape), CAPL scripting, and vFlash.
- Experience with network analyzers like Wireshark to parse Ethernet packets and MQTT/HTTP communication.
- Experience with HIL systems (e.g., dSPACE, NI, Vector) or test automation scripting (Python).
- Standards & Process:
- Familiarity with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE), ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and UNECE WP.29 (R155/R156) requirements.
- Language: Full professional fluency in English (100% spoken for global team collaboration).
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and corporate benefits.
- Direct impact on cutting-edge Ford mobility projects.
- Premium Vacations
