Position Summary
The Factory Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient supply of BIC’s Marker product portfolio, including Brite Liner Classic & Grip and Permanent Markers (Fine & Ultra Fine). This position is responsible for developing and managing short- and medium-term production plans that balance customer demand, manufacturing constraints, capacity, and inventory objectives.
As the key link between global supply chain teams and manufacturing sites across multiple countries and regions, the Factory Planner drives supply continuity, supports strategic initiatives, and ensures successful execution of new product launches, sourcing changes, and operational improvements. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a complex, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short- and medium-term production plans for assigned product families, ensuring optimal product availability and service levels.
- Balance manufacturing capacity, material availability, inventory targets, and operational constraints to support business objectives.
- Monitor supply and demand dynamics, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation plans proactively.
- Optimize inventory levels while minimizing obsolescence and excess stock.
- Serve as the primary interface between global supply chain teams, regional stakeholders, and manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure alignment across regions on supply plans, inventory strategies, and key business initiatives.
- Facilitate effective communication and decision-making among cross-functional teams, including Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
- Lead and participate in strategic supply chain and operational excellence projects.
- Support complexity reduction initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.
- Drive planning process improvements and contribute to the implementation and optimization of planning tools, including Anaplan and Blue Yonder.
- Analyze large datasets from multiple sources to support planning decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on capacity, inventory, service, and demand trends.
- Monitor and report key supply chain performance indicators.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree or postgraduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Planning, Production Planning, Demand Planning, or a related supply chain function within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of S&OP and/or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
- Experience working with planning systems and advanced supply chain tools.
- Fluent in English.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a complex, cross-functional, matrix, and multicultural environment.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams.
Preferred
- Experience within the FMCG or Consumer Goods industry.
- Experience with Anaplan, Blue Yonder, SAP, or similar planning platforms.
- Exposure to global manufacturing and supply chain networks.
