We are searching for a Senior Java Developer to join our team.
You will create and support microservices-based applications with Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies, delivering clean and efficient code, partnering closely with the team, and following best practices for quality, scalability, and performance. You will become part of an established blended team made up of EPAM and the customer's engineers, focused on developing and improving Identity Management solutions for the customer's enterprise platform. This is a cooperative, fast-paced setting where clear communication and client engagement carry the same weight as technical expertise. You will engage directly with customer stakeholders, so strong client-facing skills will be a key element for succeeding in this role.
Responsibilities

Design, construct, and support high-performance backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot alongside Spring Security

Provide and maintain OAuth2, authentication, and authorization flows within the customer's Identity Management platform

Contribute to front-end development efforts when needed, supporting the team in delivering complete end-to-end features as a secondary focus

Cooperate closely with customer engineers and stakeholders, effectively communicating technical decisions, progress, and any blockers

Engage in code reviews, promote best practices, and take part in architectural discussions while working in a paired programming setup

Interface with identity-related components such as token management, user authentication flows, and session handling

Function within an Agile and Scrum delivery approach, actively taking part in sprint ceremonies and backlog refinement sessions

Ensure that solutions consistently meet security, scalability, and performance expectations across the whole platform
Requirements

At least 3 years of applied professional experience in software engineering

Deep expertise in Java (11/17 or newer) paired with intermediate ReactJS proficiency for frontend contributions

Solid practical experience in RESTful API design and development

Hands-on background with OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and related authentication and authorization frameworks

Understanding of Identity Management concepts such as SSO, token-based authentication, JWT, and PKCE flows

Working experience with SQL and/or NoSQL storage technologies

Confident command of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps approaches

Strong English communication at B2 level or higher, both written and spoken
Nice to have

Working knowledge of Go for backend engineering tasks

Practical experience with JavaScript to assist with frontend-related activities

Familiarity with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris Commerce) for connecting with e-commerce platforms
