Hybrid Position - Faucets Plant - Juarez, Nuevo León
Under the supervision of the Manager-Source Scheduler, a Manager-Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or a Manager-Supply Chain, responsible for regional source scheduling, 5 different plants, over 2500-part numbers – 100 different vendors overseas and domestics, maintaining a purchased components and finished goods planning schedule for assigned product line(s). The level of experience and ability will determine what level the associate would be hired at. The job responsibilities remain approximately the same. Following is a breakdown of the variations in the three levels
Advanced knowledge of SAP; capable of handling frequent customer service contact; good communication skills; ability to interact with upper management. Ability to analyze data, propose solutions to problems and improve processes. Able to drive improvement of vendors’ delivery performance even in challenging situations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Place and maintain suppliers purchase orders for on‐time delivery of materials under MRP or equivalent planning engines.
- Maintain communication with vendors to ensure a quick execution of “MRP exception messages” when a Purchase Order Date has to be adjusted
- Coordinate with vendors for an expedited mode of transportation when necessary
- Work with vendors to maintain a low Air freight spend
Follow up receiving process of purchased components and finished goods to ensure PO related issues will prevent timely payment of vendors invoices
- When necessary, escalate through vendor management and internally within Kohler organization to drive vendors delivery improvement
- Maintain an optimum stock value of purchased components and finished goods
- Provide operations within scope with critical materials to avoid manufacturing downtime
- Ensure proper deployment and use of system parameters to avoid overstock and shortages
- Maintain tools that will allow Kohler FMG to identify when financial impact of air freight or production downtime is supplier’s responsibility
- Work with tools to identify supplier capacity concerns, and work with other Kohler FMG departments to prevent or address those concerns
- Set high standards of performance by measuring and reducing inventory to increase turns.
Build trust by working in partnership with manufacturing, suppliers and buyers to reduce lead times and minimum order quantities.
- Drive continuous improvements for smaller more frequent deliveries, just in time.
- Performs other assignments as directed by supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associates Degree in Business / Operations Management desired.
- 4+ years working in a materials planning and scheduling in a manufacturing or purchasing environment.
- Experience in inventory management, ERP/MRP and KanBan systems.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement, mathematical, problem‐solving and organizational skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
