OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Deliver quality medical care to patients and beneficiaries—both in outpatient and inpatient settings—by applying up-to-date medical knowledge and adhering to MSF protocols, values, and hygiene standards to enhance their overall health.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply medical knowledge and skills in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, following MSF medical protocols and standards.
- Inform patients and their families about diagnoses and treatment plans, ensuring understanding and adherence.
- Monitor and follow up on hospitalized or displaced patients through daily visits and examinations; prescribe appropriate treatments and coordinate discharges or transfers with other doctors.
- Ensure rational use of medicines, proper sterilization of medical equipment, and compliance with hygiene and infection control standards.
- Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, reporting complications, medical errors, or operational issues to the line manager or project coordinator.
- Support ongoing training and supervision of the multidisciplinary medical and paramedical team to maintain high-quality care.
- Ensure implementation of MSF medical protocols, universal precautions, and professional confidentiality at all times.
- Manage and supervise staff under direct responsibility according to MSF HR policies, including performance monitoring, shift scheduling, and participation in emergencies or on-call duties when required.
PROFILE
Education and formation
- Essential: General Physician Degree.
- Desirable diploma in tropical medicine
Experience
- Essential: minimum 2 years practicing as General Physician or Surgeon for a hospital developing multi-purpose activities
- Experience in tropical medicine, post-registration experience in public health, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, “A”, infectious diseases, HIV / AIDS / STD, TB, general medicine and / or minor surgery.
- Desirable work experience with MSF and other NGOs in developing countries
Languages
- Essential: English (B2 or higher level)
- Knowledge of French will be an asset

POSITION CONDITIONS
Work Venue: Where the needs of the project require it
Profits:
- Monthly remuneration: in the first 12 months, the bonus approximate gross monthly is USD $1,500. From the second year remuneration increases based on experience (previous and acquired) and the level of responsibility in the field.
- Private insurance coverage that includes medical coverage and hospital, temporary disability and life insurance. The organization also has an arranged medical evacuation if necessary.
- The expenses of stay in the land are covered: housing, basic services, cleaning and washing. Other expenses such as transportation, visas, transfer to the country of destination and Displacements in the field will also be covered by MSF.
- Per diem or monthly per diem: mainly to cover meals and small personal expenses.
Start: Depending on the needs of the project
Duration: Minimum 6 months
Working day: Full time

The vacancy remains open all year round due to the needs within the Humanitarian Missions. The selection process may take 3 to 6 months after my application, once accepted, you will be part of the MSF International Pool, and the mission assignment may take 3 to 6 months after validation.
