We are looking for a Chief QA Engineer to own the end-to-end testing strategy for the SmartCall cloud migration, a complex multi-phase engagement covering data layer migration, five backend services, 135 SPA screens, 38 regulated report definitions and an institution-by-institution production cutover.
Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end testing strategy across all phases of the SmartCall cloud migration

Define tooling, coverage tiers and automation architecture as part of the testing strategy

Establish the characterization test baseline in Phase 1 to protect existing behavior

Coordinate load testing and penetration test efforts in Phases 5-6
-
Drive cutover sign-off activities for institution-by-institution production rollout

Build the test harness and tacit knowledge base within the first two months

Ensure the agentic factory builds screens without compromising regulatory correctness

Author test strategy across unit, integration, API, E2E, performance and security tiers

Delegate execution to two TAEs while retaining strategic ownership

Facilitate UAT sessions with non-technical bank compliance staff

Guide defect triage discussions with senior engineers
Requirements
-
7+ years of experience in QA engineering with a proven track record defining testing strategy from scratch on migration or modernization projects
-
Background in both backend integration testing and frontend E2E automation, including regulated or financial services systems with audit trail and data integrity requirements

Expertise in test strategy authoring across unit, integration, API, E2E, performance and security tiers
-
Proficiency in xUnit, Testcontainers and PostgreSQL for integration testing and characterization test patterns

Skills in REST API test automation including contract validation against OpenAPI specs, auth-aware scenarios and tenant boundary testing

Proficiency in Playwright (TypeScript or C#) or equivalent for E2E automation covering auth flows, async polling UIs and multi-session conflict scenarios

Familiarity with pdfplumber, PyMuPDF or equivalent for PDF/document regression testing of DevExpress report definitions

Expertise in multi-tenant data isolation testing including RLS policy validation and cross-institution leakage scenarios

Skills in UAT planning and facilitation with non-technical end users under deadline pressure

Showcase of proven use of AI to facilitate testing such as test case generation and testing harnesses

English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Skills in load and performance testing using k6, JMeter or Gatling for filing-period spike scenario design

Knowledge of penetration test scoping and finding validation including OWASP Top 10 for APIs and SPAs

Familiarity with contract testing using Pact or equivalent and PostgreSQL query-level test assertions with RLS policy inspection

Understanding of accessibility testing using axe-core and WCAG 2.1 automated checks

Background in SOC 2 Type II control testing and FFIEC CDR / XBRL domain awareness
