Purpose of Role:
The Senior Electrical Engineer provides electrical engineering discipline support to the Zama Development for onshore and offshore infrastructure scope.
The role ensures that electrical engineering deliverables are reviewed, verified and technically assured during studies, pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, installation and commissioning.
The responsibility is to ensure compliant and fit-for-purpose electrical design and execution in accordance with project requirements, applicable legislation, Harbour Energy standards and policies as well as industry standards.
The Senior Electrical Engineer works collaboratively and interdisciplinary within the project team, with partners, contractors and vendors to support delivery of the electrical scope in line with overall project objectives.
Electrical engineering es per this job description shall be provided upon internal demand also for the Kan project as well as others project within Harbour Mexico.
Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES*):
Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
Electrical Engineering
Review and verify electrical engineering deliverables for high, medium and low voltage systems, including power generation, power distribution and interfaces between onshore and offshore power generation and power consumption.
Review and verify electrical engineering deliverables for hazardous area classification, explosion protection, lightning protection and corrosion protection systems.
Ensure electrical engineering work is aligned with project specifications, design basis, applicable codes and standards, and Harbour Energy standards and procedures and policies.
Identify technical issues, design gaps and optimisation opportunities, and work interdisciplinary with the project team and with contractors to define appropriate resolutions.
Support studies, pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, installation and commissioning activities for onshore and offshore electrical scope.
Technical Assurance
Provide discipline input to technical reviews, risk assessments, assurance activities and project decision-making processes.
Provide electrical engineering input on hazardous area classification, explosion protection, lightning protection and corrosion protection systems.
Support quality assurance activities during engineering and execution, including review of electrical installation practices and completion documentation.
Stakeholder and Contractor Interface
Interface with partners, vendors, engineering service providers and internal disciplines to maintain alignment across the electrical scope.
Support technical meetings, design clarifications, vendor evaluations and construction and commissioning readiness reviews.
Prepare and communicate discipline input, recommendations and status updates as required by the project.
General
Any other duties consistent with the purpose and level of the role as required by the line manager.
Critical Skills*, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
Technical Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of high, medium and low voltage electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, protection systems and offshore power supply interfaces.
Sound understanding of hazardous area requirements, explosion protection, lightning protection and electrical systems associated with corrosion protection.
Familiarity with industry standards and practices in electrical engineering.
Non-Technical Skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review engineering designs, identify key technical issues and communicate recommendations clearly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with partners, vendors and contractors.
Collaborative, proactive and structured approach, with strong professional judgement and attention to quality and compliance.
Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Professional Experience
Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in an electrical engineering role in the oil and gas sector.
Experience in engineering and execution of oil and gas facilities projects, preferably with a value exceeding USD 10 million.
Experience across FEED, detailed engineering, project execution, construction support and commissioning phases.
Education
University degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Language
English: Proficient written and spoken communication, including participation in technical and project meetings conducted in English.
Spanish: Intermediate or above.
